Missoula River Etiquette
First light on the river

Great post yesterday on Make It Missoula about the Skwala season and Missoula River Etiquette.  You can click for the link.  The Skwala hatch was a closely guarded secret 20 years ago, but now it is one of the most celebrated hatches in all of Montana.  The Bitterroot river is the epicenter of all the action and at certain times of the spring it can become a busy place.  You can still find your own piece of solitude these days, it just takes a little more effort.  There are some solid tips in the post on how to avoid the crowds, and how to show some common courtesy to other anglers when you encounter them on the river.  The Skwalas are hatching and the river is dropping back into good shape.  It will be fishing well again in no time.
